With the development of marine programs, floating crane as indispensable equipment for marine engineering, faced with increased demand, greater payload, run faster, and many other challenges. Floating crane working in the ocean, due to the wave loads, wind loads, such as external environmental impact loads can cause heavy hull and hoist coupled motion. Crane ship motion will not only affect the normal work of the staff on board, also can damage the ship equipment, severe cases will cause the hull side turn cause major accidents. Researching on dynamic characteristics of floating cranes under the environmental load is very necessary. It can for design and operation of the floating crane to provide some valuable information. In this paper, on the basis of predecessors’ research further, the main research contents are as follows:1. Mathematical model is established. And affect the hoisting oscillation parameters was found.2. The external loads, such as the wave force, the wind force, hydrostatic, hydrodynamic, anchoring force, are calculated. It’s a fundamental role to study of dynamic characteristics of floating crane.3. The virtual prototype model of floating crane is established. Boom and the wire rope of floating crane is as flexible body.4. Dynamic characteristics of floating crane were simulated. Floating crane parameters, such as lifting heavy quality, the long rope, lifting arm elevation, wave direction Angle, etc., influence the dynamic characteristics of the floating crane. Hoisting oscillation characteristics are analyzed in time domain and frequency domain. Finally, the typical working conditions of the floating crane were simulated.
