The development and utilization of remote sensing devices and methods based on the Doppler Effect open new accesses to atmospheric phenomenon. The Coherent Doppler Lidar (CDL) system is an available tool which has high spatial and temporal resolution in the clear atmosphere. The 3D scanning mode are used for measurements of the wind field, the atmospheric turbulent flow, the aircraft wake vortices, the wind shear, and so forth.Firstly, the introduction of the CDL theory shows that it operates by transmitting a laser beam into the atmosphere and detecting the Doppler shift of aerosol particles. Secondly, the development of CDL system based on all-fiber is introduced. Thirdly, the scanning mode of the CDL and the retrieval algorithm of wind field are also introduced. Lab VIEW, a graphical programs language, is used for data processing program to achieve the efficient and intuitive.. result figures combining with MATLAB.Main part of the thesis is the application and data analysis of the wind field by CDL in wind farms and marine-atmosphere boundary layer (MABL) detection.The application of the CDL in wind farms are significant on account of site selection and design determined by terrain and atmosphere wind. Studies on the influence of atmospheric conditions on wind wake have reference value because of the increasing number of wind farms and a pressing need to optimize the turbine arrangement and power output in a wind farm. In addition, we also focus on the turbulence wake dynamic when the yaw control happens.The atmospheric motion of MABL influent the global circulation and the matter-energy exchange so that wind field is a critical parameter of the momentum and flux calculation. CDL system is so good as to prove the feasibility of the MABL detection. A ship-mounted Coherent Doppler Lidar was used to achieve the wind profile and vertical speed by measuring the MABL in 2014. For the purpose of reducing the impact of shake during movement and modifying the radial velocity, the paper also introduces the attitude correction algorithm and comparison results. The study of increasing the resolution of vertical speed is necessary for the research of multi-scale weather phenomena like turbulent flow.
