Bioinformatics is one of the frontier subjects of Natural Science in twenty-first Century, and plays an important role in the food and medical fields. With the deepening of the study of bioinformatics, comprehensive study on biological data from different areas and different levels increases rapidly. However, traditional visualization methods tend to be oriented to a certain field, unable to meet the needs of comprehensive research. In the recent years, many international experts in the field of bioinformatics repeatedly stressed that the comprehensive visualization of the biological data in different fields is the development direction of biological data visualization. Researchers need a comprehensive visualization system urgently, which can connect and visualize the biological data in the fields of molecular structure, genome, tissues and organs. The comprehensive visualization system has good application prospects, which can help the researchers find the relationship between the biological data, and reveal the scientific meaning of the biological information. At present, the comprehensive visualization system for biological data at various levels have not implemented, this is a huge and meaningful work.Following the development direction of the visualization of biological information, and for the application demand of the comprehensive visualization of molecular structure and genome sequences, this dissertation studies the key technology and the realization method of the integrated framework for comprehensive visualization of molecular structure and genome sequences. There are many tools in the areas of molecular structure visualization and genome sequences visualization, some of them have many users, but these tools only can handle the data in single area, and cannot realize the comprehensive visualization. Design of the integration framework is the key problems to realize comprehensive visualization of these two areas. This dissertation focuses on the molecular structure and gene sequence visualization tool features and package interface design, the structure design of the integration framework for comprehensive visualization, the control method of the comprehensive visualization framework, and the implementation technology of the comprehensive visualization system. The main efforts and contributions are as follows:1. Based on the comprehensive analysis of the characteristics of the visualization tools in the genome sequences and molecular structure fields, we have designed the tool package interface and communication management mechanism, which comply with the characteristics of the mainstream visualization tools in these fields. This lays the foundation of the comprehensive integration of the visualization tools in these two areas.2. For the construction of the molecular structure and genome sequences visualizationsystem, we put forward an integration framework structure for comprehensive visualization. Comprehensive control module is the core of this framework, which coordinates other function modules. This framework implements the visualization tool management, unified data management, network data service management, and unified multi windows user interface, supports the local class and the web class of biomolecular structure and genome sequences visualization tools integration. The data management module provides the associated data generation support of the molecular structure and genome sequences of the two domains. Preliminary tests showed, based on the integration frame structure, it can be convenient and efficient to construct the molecular structure and gene sequence visualization system.3. Combining with the application needs of comprehensive visualization and characteristics of the integration framework, we put forward a comprehensive control method of the comprehensive visualization integration framework. According to the working state of the system, we set up the state register containing five attributes. We use the state transfer diagram to describe the relationship between the system state and the command message. Based on the state transfer diagram, the comprehensive control module controls the incident response and tools communication effectively. Preliminary test results verify the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed control method of molecular structure and gene sequence comprehensive visualization system.4. Based on the integration framework, we design and implement the molecular structure and genome sequences visualization prototype system. The system retains the original visualization functions of the two areas, and implements two comprehensive visualization function: molecular structure and gene sequences simultaneous display, local molecular structure and corresponding nucleic acid fragment synchronized display. Preliminary trials show that the comprehensive visualization functions have good effect and wide application prospect.
