Camellia oleifera Abel. belongs to Theaceae, Theaceae Camellia(Camellia L.), is characteristic of the edible oil tree species in China. The oil is extracted from C. oleifera Abel, seed called C. oleifera Abel. seed oil, is a kind of green, ecological and high nutritional health edible oil. The C. oleifera Abel. seed oil on the human body detoxification, antiradiation, antiaging, inhibit cancer cell multiple roles, antibacterial, etc., can be used as a natural antioxidant. The oil is rich in tea polyphenols, on oil quality and human health has a very significant influence. This study focuses on different varieties of C. oleifera Abel. seed oils of different extraction methods to the antioxidant, antibacterial, resistance to ultraviolet radiation activity analysis and the determination of polyphenols content and composition analysis, explore the activity of C. oleifera Abel. seed oil and the correlation of polyphenols content, in order to further clarify the C. oleifera Abel. seed oil oxidation stability mechanism, provides the theory basis for developing functionality C. oleifera Abel. seed oil. The results of experimental research are as follows:1. Using ABTS, FRAP, DPPH, LDL oxidation and RBCs assays on evaluation of the antioxidant activity of C. oleifera Abel. seed oil, research showed that all C.seed oil has a certain antioxidant activity, antioxidant activity of crude oil is stronger than the refined oil, antioxidant activity of pressing crude oil (A) is the strongest, refined oil from Huili (J) in the ABTS, FRAP, DPPH and in LDL oxidation effect on the formation of conjugated double bond in reflects the weakest antioxidant activity, But in RBCs assay, antioxidant activity of the weak is Ya’an safflower not shelled refined oil (F), however in the LDL oxidation inhibition rate of tryptophan, antioxidant activity of Ya’an white shell refined oil (D) is the weakest.2. By ultraviolet irradiation test (0-120 min) to investigate the radiation protection activities of C. seed oil, the results showed that the G. seed oil has some ability to prevent ultraviolet radiation. Ten curves of various samples were observed and found that showed the present rise (0-10 min) before falling trend (10-120 min).3. By exploring C. seed oil on Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Aspergillus niger inhibition results showed that:C. seed oil for the first three kinds of bacteria has a certain inhibitory effect, but no effect on Aspergillus niger. And with the increase of the volume fraction of C. seed oil, also increased its antimicrobial activity.4. Conventional water bath and microwave assisted method were used to extract the polyphenols in C. seed oil, and applying the response surface method of microwave assisted extraction technology was optimized and get the best extraction condition for: microwave power is 280 W, extracting time is 2.50 min, the ratio of solid to solution is 1 to 15. Under this condition, the regression model to predict the extraction polyphenols content of C. seed oil is 42.34 uμg/mL, as measured by the actual is 41.54 μg/mL, the relative error is 1.90%. The results showed that the model equations fit well with the actual situation, to fully verify the reliability and feasibility of the selected conditions. Two polyphenol extraction methods consistent with C. seed oil extracted polyphenol content in descending order, and with the increasing concentration of ethanol, extracted polyphenol content also increased; and at the same concentration of ethanol, the highest content of A, respectively reached is 41.54 ug/mL (microwave),20.72 μg/mL (water bath), D is only 27.44 μg/mL (microwave),7.89 μg/mL (water bath), polyphenol content in crude oil is still more than the polyphenol content in refined oil.5. Comprehensive analysis correlation of the activity of C. seed oil and polyphenol content is high and low, the results showed that both do have some relevance. The highest polyphenol content of A is the strongest antioxidant activity, however, due to the diversity of polyphenols, and various type and content of polyphenols in the samples, test result showed that the activity of antioxidant, antibacterial, prevent ultraviolet radiation also have differences.6. Using UV and HPLC on active ingredients analysis of ethanol extract of C. oil showed that:Within the range of 200-600 nm wavelength scanning, found in the UV region around 220 nm and 280 nm has strong absorption, HPLC analysis of the active ingredient detection and appraisal of quercetin and some more side chains of phenolic compounds, the results showed that the antioxidant, antibacterial and ultraviolet radiation activity of C. seed oil, may be contributed by the flavonoids in oil.
