In the past few years, the exploration and exploitation of unconventional oil and gas have achieved important development and breakthrough. Shale oil and gas is becoming the important developing and research area of global unconventional oil and gas. Meso-Neoproterozoic marine sedimentation has a wide distribution in the north of North China. The shale of Chuanlinggou Formation, Hongshuizhuang Formation, and Xiamaling Formation is common here. Previous data showed that The Meso-Neoproterozoic shale in the north of North China is the good source rock, but the study as the reservoir is few. In this paper, our shale samples are taken from the Chuanlinggou Formation, Hongshuizhuang Formation, and Xiamaling Formation at Jixian section in Tianjin. We use the whole rock and clay mineral X-ray diffraction analysis to identify the mineralogical composition of the samples; then by mercury porosimeter, Nitrogen adsorption and carbon dioxide absorption experiments, we make the quantitative analysis of pore structure, and by ESEM and FESEM, we make the qualitative analysis of pore structure; besides, we analyze the Kerogen type, organic carbon abundance and the maturity of the samples etc. through organic geochemical testing. Meanwhile we conduct the diagenetic physical simulation experiment using the shale samples from Xiamaling Formation in Xiahuayuan area in Zhangjiakou so as to discuss the pore evolution of low maturity shale with change of the temperature and pressure condition. Therefore, combining with the regional geological data, discuss about the hydrocarbon potential of Meso-Neoproterozoic shale in the area of Beijing, Tianjing and Hebei. The main conclusions are as following: the kerogen type of Meso-Neoproterozoic shale at Jixian section is dominated by Ⅰ and Ⅱ, vitrinite reflectance(Ro) is more than 1%, the organic matter evolution is high, and it is in the stage of generating gas;the shale samples mainly consists of quartz and clay minerals, and quartz is the major brittle mineral, clay minerals are largely composed of andreattite(I/S), then secondly of illite(I) and Chlorite and smectite mixed layer(C/S). The pore types include inter-partical and dissolution pores, organic holes, organic matter marginal pores, intragranular pores and intragranular dissolved pores, the intergranular holes in clay minerals etc. and it is given priority to mesoporous and microporous; it is concluded from the diagenetic physical simulation experiment that the change trend of microporous and mesoporous volμme is similar influenced by Ro: firstly increase and then decreases with the increase of Ro value. Ro is between 1.7% and 2.2%,mesoporous is most developed, and Ro is around 1.8%, microporous is most developed, therefore, Ro is between 1.6% and 2.2%, micron and nanometer hole is most developed. Based on mineral composition, TOC,Ro,and other data, we evaluate that Hongshuizhuang Formation is the best Meso-Neoproterozoic shale reservoir in study area, next is Xiamaling Formation and last is Chuanlinggou Formaion. By region, favorable areas of Hongshuizhuang Formation for oil and gas is in Pingquan of Hebei north depression, Beijing Shidanling area and Jing101 well of Jizhongdepression; and favorable area of Xiamaling Formation for oil and gas is in Beijing Shisanling area.
