Geopark is characterized by geological remains resources as the main features, which has a very high scientific research value and ornamental value. China covers a vast geographic area, with complicated geographic conditions, climate change and varied, lead to form a wide range of types of landscape resources, geological relics mainly include karst landform, granite landform, sandstone landform, volcanic landforms, and variety of the fossil resources, many of which are the precious of the national and world natural heritage.Geological relics resources has special geological research value, study the formation background of geological relics, the tectonic, classification, distribution characteristics, formation mechanism, etc., which provide the theory and method of the protection and utilization of geoheritages. In this paper, based on the comprehensive analysis on the predecessors’ research results, summarized the research status of the global geoparks in China, understanding the geological features of the natural geography in China, and analysis of regional geological background of China, then analysis of geological characteristics of the global geoparks of China, including the analysis of classification, distribution, geological structure, paleontology and other features, discussing the types of the formation mechanism, typical geological landcapes’ formation mechanisms and their comparison of the global geoparks. The paper takes the methods of literatures review and comparative analysis, chosen the most typical and representative geological relic landscapes in China, which make a comparative analysis of the typical scenic spots at home and abroad, discussing the outstanding value and scientific significance of the geological characteristics.Through the above analysis and research, may draw the following contents:Chinese global geoparks’ stratum records a change and wide in geological age and spatial distribution, which grown from Archean, Proterozoic Era, Paleozoic Era, Mesozoic and Cenozoic, and develops multiple types of rocks, such as carbonate rocks, sandstone, granite and volcanic rock and metamorphic rock, the distribution forms are generally condensed type distribution along the tectonic belt. The internal and external genetic type of geological relics is mainly includes the hydrodynamism, wind power, glaciation, geological structure, volcanism and paleontological petrification etc.. Finally, giving a brief overview of the formation mechanism of all kinds of typical geological landforms, and select five kinds of typical geological relic landscapes and global comparative analysis, which shows that the geological relics of China are not only the typical and representative in national scope, also are the remarkable and outstanding geological science value and prominent aesthetic value around the world, and they all belong to the world natural heritage.
