The exploration work of Aobaota oilfield M6- M202 block has been monitoring network of 2D data and 3D seismic data structure, fault coverage, the implem- entation of a higher degree, but the thin sand body, lateral variation, faults, fault distance, short extension, multi period development, cutting relation are complex, and the seismic resolution is low, structural features of recognition is very difficult. So a comprehensive study and understanding is necessary for the favorable areas of undeveloped region.There are the geological conditions for forming lithologic reservoirs in the geological characteristics of these blocks in sandstone areas and tectonic superimposed area. This paper evaluates the geological characteristics and increasing storage potential of Aobaota oilfieldM6-M202 block. The research includes studying the tectonic development history, tracing on the main reservoir, the analysis of the oil-water distribution and control factors. A set of complex fault block oil reservoir evaluation technique of lithologic reservoir have formed for finding more reserve potential Putaohua and Fuyu reservoir and evaluation of control force, wells deployment combined with the comprehensive geological study.The results show that sedimentary facies are mainly sand sheet in the northern Putaohua area, but the transitional sandstone of shallow lake sand flat sedimentary facies develop mainly in the south.There are structural lithologic, lithological, fault lithologic and fault block reservoirs. The ancient developing structures are the most favorable positions of oil and gas enrichment in the east of Putaohua oil layer, and control the distribution of sand bodies, accumulation and distribution of oil and gas. The high position of the local structure, sand body developed area and the ancient tectonic superimposed zone are favorable for Putaohua oil layer. Forming of oil and gas reservoirsoutsidePutaohua oil layer are mainly controlled by structure, lithology and fault, and the reservoirsare lithologic lens, with tectonic background reservoirs. The forming of Fuyu reservoir is controlled by a variety of factors,such as structure, Lithology and physical properties. The distribution of oil and gas is controlled by tectonic and tectonic setting which is the oil and gas migration point. Lithology and physical property determine the oil and gas enrichment. Fuyu oil layers are the fault block-lithology and physical property difference of oil and gas reservoirs under the tectonic background.
