Visualization technology can render clear images for operators to analyze and understand problems, by using of computer graphics-related knowledge. Seismic exploration techniques are widely used to find oil and gas deposits, which are dependent on visualization techniques to parse the seismic data, draw geological graphics. This technology can intuitively display of the geological structure and the internal attribute information. So, analysis and interpretation of seismic data are out of the simple numerical form. The great improving of efficiency and accuracy can clearly indicate reservoir storage position, estimate the value of reserves. Seismic data visualization technology is advanced technology for geological research. Therefore, designing a good software system to draw the three-dimensional image related to the earthquake for the development of oil exploration has great significance. Based on computer graphics and geological expertise, the thesis mainly studies seismic data visualization technologies, including slice rendering, position image rendering and simulation of cracks. It works as follows:1. Drawing slices images. The Volume rendering technologies, including texture mapping technique and ray-casting technique are two ways to draw slice images. And the images is improved by bilinear interpolation and tri-linear interpolation.2. Drawing position images. In order to construct a curved surface formed of scattered points, the first step is to distinguish between non-feature points and feature point, according to B-spleen curves; Then construct a triangular mesh using Delaunay triangulation, which is achieved by means of point insertion; At last, use Kriging interpolation to optimize images.3. Simulation of crack. Crack is displayed by the micro seismic event point. To determine the fracture event points, put all the events point to the two-dimensional plane, and then use a closed polygon marquee event points. At last use a formula based on the earthquake to get the needed event point data to calculate the parameters for drawing crack image.The system achieves these functions of three-dimensional seismic sections display, position displayed and simulation of crack. It is easy to manipulate and has high efficiency. After the test, it runs well, meets all of the requirements. It is now used in the production.
