Using the Tarim Basin Donghe sandstone reservoir heterogeneity research as the starting point, Donghe sandstones of outcrops in Xiaohaizi region and Hudson fields are selected as the research objects. The paper specifically studies the features of sedimentary microfacies and the distribution of interlayers within the small layers, and then to research the correlation between the interlayers and sedimentary facies.Based on core observation and thin section analysis, interlayers are classified into three kinds, such as cement, argillaceous and strong compacted types. Studying on the cement type which accounts for the most part in Donghe sandstone, this type are mainly calcareous interlayers divided into lumps, pore and basal cementation types microscopically, while on macroscopical they are individual lenticular or banded along the layer distribution. With logging curves intersection graph analysis and reference interpretation, we summed up the response characteristics of logging curves.Based on the analysis on the cause of interlayers,we builded identifying patterns of single-well and connected-well profiles of interlayers, and then draw nine cross-sectional distribution maps and six plane distribution maps of interlayers.Based on the types of lithofacies, identified boundaries, the outcrops can be divided into two low frequency cycles, six intermediate cycles, corresponding with the Donghe sandstone and division of small layers in Hudson oilfield. In total nine maps of connected-well profiles and six plane maps of small layers were mapped.Studying on sedimentary microfacies and connected-well profiles and plane distribution of interlayers,we summed up that most interlayers in small layers distributed in the top while few in the bottom; in the plane, thicker areas of interlayers are mainly consistent with sedimentary microfacies of shoreface dam and foreface dam.some of the interlayers distribute in the shoreface beach sedimentary microface.
