Gas hydrate is also known as flammable ice, which is a class of solid state compounds formed by water molecule and gas molecule, Because its main component is methane, it is called "methane gas hydrates" too. Gas hydrates are widely distributed in continental margin sediments, with high energy density, large-scale, depth shallow, forming a good physical and chemical conditions, clean environment, etc, is an ideal alternative energy in future. Therefore, gas hydrate exploration has become more and more important in the world. This thesis is based on fine processed and interpreted Quasi-three dimensional seismic data of the continental slope of northern part of the South China Sea. Do inversion test to gas-hydrate destination of northern part of the South China Sea with different seismic inversion method, then analyze output data and study inversion method group, propose an optimized group of seismic inversion method which suit for the South China Sea gas-hydrate exploration.By collecting geologic information about the destination area of northern part of the South China Sea and reading documents on seismic inversion both domestic and overseas, during the course of working, after processing and interpreting the seismic data of exploration destination, do P-Impedance inversion, interval velocity inversion, AVO inversion, seismic attributes inversion, hybrid seismic inversion, and analyze the outputs to induce their features, then get an optimized group of seismic inversion method which suit for the South China Sea gas-hydrate exploration, which make it possible for increasing efficiency of gas-hydrate exploration at the sea.The study area is the continental slope of northern part of the South China Sea. Because different area has different structure and sediment background, different gas-hydrate reservoir has different distributional pattern, and degree of prospecting is not the same for different region, the conclusion of this thesis may have certain limitations, its effect ought to be examined in exploration project in future. However, the basic idea of this thesis suit for all gas-hydrate exploration at the sea.
