| This paper is divided into four parts, the first chapter is the introduction of calixarene. Calixarene is a ring oligomer with linkage of the methylene bridge or a similar group and a hole inside by condensation reaction of alkyl phenol and formaldehyde. The calixarene has unique three-dimensional cavity structure: the upper edge is the para-substituent of the benzene ring; the lower edge is composed by closely and regularly arranged phenolic hydroxyl group; the middle is electron-rich hydrophobic cavity formed by benzene rings. Because of simpleness to synthesis, easy modification, ability to complex cations, anions and neutral molecules, changable cavity size and so on, it has attracted attention of worldwide scholars.Many kinds of high selective host molecules with different functional groups and special structures can be obtained by chemical modification at the upper rim, lower rim and methylene of the calixarene. The modifications at the lower rim of calix[4]arenes are mainly etherification and esterification with the chemical activity of phenolic hydroxyl group. The chiral groups, optically active and catalysis active groups and so on could be connected to calix[4]arene though the phenolic hydroxyl groups at the lower rim. The synthetized calix[4]arene has selectively recognition ability to many molecules and ions.The next two chapters are the main parts of the paper.The second chapter is the synthesis details of compounds, includingâ‘ By selective etherisation, six calixarene ethers was synthesised. The orthogonal experiment was used to optimize the reaction of one ether and improve the yield.â‘¡Though one of the ethers mentioned above, four kinds of Schiff base synthesized, two of which have fluorescence.The third chapter is the characterization and properties. All of the products are characterized by IR and 1H NMR, some of products are characterized by X-ray crystallography. In the part of property research, UV and fluorescence spectra was adapted to examine complexation of one of Schiff bases having fluorescence with various ions. Study results show that it have bigger fluorescence enhancement to Zn2 +and Al3 +. So it can identify the ions above, and fluorescence enhancement is rarely reported compare with cancellation.The fourth chapter is the conclusion of the paper and estimation of further work. |
