The light-emitting semiconductor nanocrystals, also known as quantum dots (QDs). It’s width absorption spectral, the emission spectra narrow and symmetrical. It can emit different colors of light by adjusting the composition and size. It have higher fluorescence intensity and light stability, and overcome many insufficient of the traditional organic dyes. In recent years, the doped semiconductor nanocrystals, and those in particular does not contain heavy metal ions, may become the mainstream luminescence materials.Doped semiconductor nanocrystal (d-dots), namely doped in the intrinsic semiconductors nanocrystalline impurities or dopants intentionally, which change the properties of optical, magnetic, electronic, thermal stability, and chemical stability. D-dots cannot only retain nearly all advantages of intrinsic quantum dots, such as narrow and symmetric emission with tunable colors, broad and strong absorption, but also have large Stokes shift, which eliminate strong self-quenching due to reabsorption/energy transfer. This dissertation has studied synthesis of Cu-doped CdTe (Cu:CdTe) dots with3-Mercaptopropionic Acid (MPA) as stabilizer in water phase. The luminescence properties of the products were characterized by photoluminescence spectra (PL), the crystal form were analysis by the atomic force microscope (AFM) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD).The main experimental results show that:the reaction time, temperature, pH, the molar ratio of MPA and Cd2+have influenced on the particle size of doped quantum dots, size distribution and the rate of growth and studied these influencing factors systematically; the quantity of Cu2+have great effect on the quantum efficiency, thermal stability and chemical stability. The advantages of this experiment are useing of the common chemical reagent, the mild experiment conditions, and suitable for promotion in the ordinary laboratory.
