Currently, most research on the electrospinning focused on the field of solution electrospinning. Due to the complexity of the device and the fiber’s diameter thicker than that from the solution electrospinning, studies on melt electrospinning are less than the others. There are lots of problems on the solution electrospinning, as it using solvents, although it can spin out relatively fine fibers. The melt electrospinning we have researched is a method of electrostatic spinning solution, which is more economical, more environmental friendly and safer than the solution electrospinning. So it has a relative broader future space. At present, all the factors that affect the melt electrospinning have been studied at home and abroad. These factors are closely related with spinning equipment and conditions. In order to further reduce the spinning fibers’diameter and increase the spinning efficiency, to the patented equipment of our group, the spinning temperature, distance, electric field and other factors were studied deeply in this paper.A new generation of electro-spinning device was designed and manufactured based on the original equipment. And a series of studies on the factors of the spinning fiber diameter were carried out. In addition, several high-viscosity materials were spun and a small amount of nano-scale fibers was successfully obtained. As it is very difficult to directly measure the distribution of the electric field which has a very large impact on the spinning fibers, we conducted a simulation on the electric field using ANSYS and the results were verified by subsegment experiments. In this paper, we also improved the old electrospinning device and designed a nozzle, which has very prominent advantages, for reducing degradation of high viscosity materials. There is also a coat-hanger like nozzle which can make a broad spinning fibers and some experiments were done in this paper.
