With the rapid development of urbanization and economy, environmental pollution should be concerned. Although conventional pollutants are not the main problems because of pollution control in the past decades, the secondary pollution with the symbolized pollutant ozone has been paid attention to.The three-year monitoring data of O3, Nox, CO, SO2and meteorological parameters from2009to2011in Songjiang district were summarized and analyzed. The pollution level and variation pattern were studied. The seasonal, yearly, diurnal and typical variation characteristics were compared and the non-attainment days were summarized. The correlation of ozone to precursor pollutants, meteorological parameters including temperature, RH and wind direction was investigated. Results indicated that regional sources transportation might be an important contributor of ground-level ozone. The typical non-attainment days were selected to study the long-range transportation of air mass by HYSPLIT trajectory model and results showed that ozone and precursor pollutants were impacted by different air mass transportation paths particularly the air from south wind.The reasons of higher ozone concentration were discussed through analyzing industrial structure in Songjiang area. SPM model which describes the ozone formation kinetic mechanism was used to assess the formation mechanism of ozone in that area. The results implied that VOCs control might be the priority measure for reducing ozone which can be combined with NOx control.
