Valeraldehyde is an important organic chemical raw material. It can be used for producing pentanol by hydrogenation, and be used for producing pentanoic acid by oxidation, these two components including valeraldehyde are all important intermediate for organic synthesis, widely used in medicine, pesticides, solvent, paint, additives. Valeraldehyde is also a good material for synthesizing methyl dihydrojasmonate, which is an excellent replacement for jasmine oil. People are paying more and more attention to human health and environmental protection nowadays, Dioctyl Phthalate(DOP), as a plasticizer, has faded out of European and American market for its serious environmental and health problems, a good substitute is2-propylheptanoic alcohol, which can be produced by valeraldehyde through aldokcondensation and hydrogenation then esterification with phthalate.In this article, we use Rh catalyst with triphenylphosphine ligand, in valeraldehyde and its polycondensate solvent, in a small continuous reactor in the laboratory,1-butene oxo reaction kinetic research has been carried out based on perfect analytical methods. The influence of reaction temperature, H2、CO partial pressure,1-butene and catalyst concentration on reaction rate has been investigated. The results shows that the reaction rate can be speeded up by higher reaction temperature, catalyst concentration and1-butene concentration, but there will be more side effects when the temperature is too high, total reaction pressure has no obvious effect on reaction rate at certain value.Basic kinetic data of1-butene hydroformylation has been gained through oxo reaction process simulation using Aspen plus. Based on a well understanding of reaction mechanism of1-butene oxo reaction, choosing a suitable kinetic model from literatures, using experimental data regression to regress value of kinetic model parameters with Matlab software, at last, a satisfied result has been archived. By arranging and analyzing experimental data, the correspondence between CO partial pressure and n/i ratio have been discovered, then through data regression, the equation between CO partial pressure and n/i ratio has been gained.
