Because inorganic rectorite (REC) layered has lamellar body structure, it can provide more reaction active center. And the diversified intercalation technologies made object molecular assembly in REC layers. Nanocomposite materials combine the properties with REC and object molecules, exhibit the difference with the raw REC, such as the catalysis, adsorption and light, electricity, magnetic. In the research, through the intercalated reaction, we can prepare natural polymer/inorganic layered nancomposites, which can be used to study in magnetic materials, composite membrane materials, and ordered mesoporous materials. First of all, a certain proportion of REC in aqueous suspension was inserted by Fe3O4particles, to obtain magnetic REC. The adsorption of organic dye by REC and magnetic REC in water was compared, and the experiments show that the adsorption effect of magnetic REC significantly better than REC and easier separation. In the simple process of aqueous gel precursor freezing, solvent exchange (ice-ethanol), and ethanol drying, the ultralight and porous REC/guar gum gels were successfully prepared, which have the potential applications on wastewater treatment, thermal energy storage purposes, and so on. The3D REC sheets networks were formed in REC gels, and consolidated by CGG, which intercalated into REC layers or attached on the REC surface. As the novel porous materials, REC gels were composed of many macropores and a little mesopores, which exhibited high adsorption for ethanol, oil, MB dye and stearic acid. At last, REC was modified with cationic guar gum (CGG) using a cationic-exchange reaction. As the fillers, REC and modified REC were added into plasticized starch films. The experimental results showed the fillers obviously improved the properties of the composites, such as the increased tensile strength, reduced elongation, more thermal stability, and reduced water vapor permeability.
