Oil refining process will emit large amounts of organic wastewater, which is agreat contribution to environment deterioration. Traditional oil wastewater treatmentgenerally has disadvantages of low efficiency, complicated equipment and large area, etc. Thus, many other high-efficiency and simple isolation technique researches drewlots of attention. Membrane technology is quite hot for isolation in recent years. Itssuperiority of stable effluent quality, easy operation management, automatic controland saving land makes a better prospect for treating oil wastewater.A certain actual oil wastewater was treated by a combined process of inorganicmembrane pretreatment-hydrolysis-biological contact oxidation-inclined tubesedimentation. Its superiority and ability to treat this kind of water was discussedthrough process comparison and selection, operation management and efficiency ofprocess. During operation, the effluent met the primary standard of integratedwastewater discharge standard. After advanced treatment by biological aerated filtermicro flocculation filter and disinfection, reclaimed water basically meet "industrialcirculating cooling water treatment design specification”.The technique for reuse from oil wastewater to circulating cooling water wasdiscussed and its handling method was also introduced through stabilization of qualityof water, control of bacteria growth, control of salinity and alkalinity. This processreduced the cost of buying circulating cooling water, which would be a good examplefor saving energy at large oil and grease plant.
