With the rapid development of economy and society, the global energy crisis isapproaching. Machinery manufacturing industry in particular is one of the pillarindustry of national economy, it has created great wealth for national economy; and italso consumes large amounts of energy resources and causes serious environmentalimpacts. Aiming at the existing high energy consumption and low energy efficiencycharacteristics of machinery manufacturing industry in China, analyzing its energyconsumption characteristics in the process of machining, exploring to reduce energyconsumption of machine tool equipment and improving energy utilization efficiency ofmachine tool in order to achieve sustainable development is the inevitable choice ofChina’s machinery manufacturing. With the support from key projects of NationalNatural science fund“High efficiency and low carbon operation optimization theory andkey technology of discrete workshop manufacturing system”(51035001) and NationalHigh-tech R&D Program of China (863Program)(2014AA041506), the CNC millingoptimization model of energy efficiency and methods were studied.This can providereference and guidance for the development of China’s machinery manufacturing torealize transformation and upgrading, achieve energy efficient utilization, which hasimportant research significance.Firstly, based on the analysis of CNC milling process parameters, thecharacteristics of CNC machining system power consumption is studied and CNCmachining system energy efficiency functions is constructed. Then, based on the taguchiexperiment design method to carry out the numerical control milling efficiencyoptimization experiment research, at last, the energy efficiency and specific energyresponse functions are matched based on the Response Surface Methodology(RSM).Secondly, determined the optimization variables, considering the actual processingof the machine tool conditions and workpiece machining quality constraintscomprehensively, the Multi-objective process parameters optimization model of CNCmilling for energy efficiency is set up; Based on particle swarm optimization (PSO)algorithm to solve the established model, and the optimized variables sensitivityanalysis method is studied.Thirdly, analyzed the multi-pass milling processing energy consumptioncharacteristics of CNC machining, then determined the optimization variables, the Multi-step processing and the parameters of multi-objective optimization model of CNCmachining for specific energy is established considering the processing actual constraintconditions comprehensively, based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm tosolve the established model, which provides the basis for multi-pass machining processenergy efficiency.Finally, the single pass and multi-pass processing efficiency optimization methodsof CNC machining put forward in this paper are applied and analyzed through the actualcase, in order to verify the feasibility and practicability of the proposed methods above,which provides theory support for reducing the energy consumption of CNC millingprocess and improving the utilization efficiency of CNC machine energy.
