With the rapid development of the society, the global energy crisis is approaching. Machinery manufacturing industry is one of the pillar industry of national economy, it has created great wealth for national economy, and it also consumes large amounts of energy resources. Aiming at the existing high energy consumption and low energy efficiency characteristics of machinery manufacturing industry, analyzing its energy consumption characteristics in the machining process, exploring the regulation of reducing energy of machine tool and improving energy efficiency to achieve sustainable development is the inevitable choice of China's machinery manufacturing. With the support from National High-tech R&D Program of China(863 Program) under grant 2014AA041506 and National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC) under grant 51475059. The energy efficiency oriented CNC machining process parameters optimization method and supporting system is studied in this paper, which can provide guidance for the reduction of energy consumption and carbon emission of China's machinery manufacturing and improve the energy efficiency. Thus, the research has important significance.Firstly, the characteristics of energy consumption in CNC machining is analyzed, respectively. Based on the analysis of energy characteristics the function of energy efficiency is established. then the experiments about the influence of cutting parameters on energy efficiency are conducted.Secondly, the correlation coefficients of the energy efficiency are obtained through nonlinear regression fitting on the basis of the characteristics of energy consumption. The reliability of energy efficiency model is conducted through a set of experiments. Then the influence effect of cutting parameters on energy efficiency and production time is analyzed.Thirdly, a multi-objective cutting parameters optimization model is proposed to take the highest energy efficiency and the minimum production time as the optimization objectives, which is solved based on Tabu Search(TS) algorithm for the CNC turning and milling, respectively. then the optimization results about the two machining processes and the influence of material remove rate on the energy efficiency and production are analyzed.Fourthly, based on the energy efficiency oriented CNC machining process parameters optimization method above research, the cutting parameters optimization support system for CNC machining is developed. Then the framework, work procedure and main functions of the supporting system are introduced.Finally, the cutting parameters optimization supporting system for CNC machining is applied to the machining workshop. The application environment and required equipment of the supporting system are detailed introduced. Then the value of energy efficiency is compared between the traditional cutting parameters and the optimization cutting parameters, which validates the effectiveness and reliability of supporting system.
