The paper is based on the experiences in designing landfill leachate treatmentplant. The data come from the projects and experiments in Guangzhou, Changsha,Zhuhai,Heyuan etc. The author rethought the problems in design procedure thoughremoval loading, concentrate treatment, cost control etc.In the paper, the author made variations and extension from themainstream processes——MBR+RO/NF. She also compared the results fromtreatment scale calculation, investment cost and operationcosts. Come to a conclusionthat using MBR+RO/NF as main processes, flocculation and ozone oxidation asconcentrate treatment process, discharging the treated concentrate mixed with theeffluent from RO/NF, were the better application processes in China. The author designed3programs according to the recommended process. Sheanalysed how the removal loading influence to technological parameter, investmentcost and operation costs. Come to a conclusion that TN should be made down below40mg/L in biochemical treatment systems. That could make more choices for thesubsequent treatments. Using the ozone oxidation to treat the concentrate from RO orNF system is technically feasible. It can make the effluent reach the quality required bythe standards. The difference of the investment costs and operation costs are notsignificant. It is more economically by using NF system and concentrate oxidation, butit is also more secure to reach effluent quality by using RO system.
