Compared with conventional heat exchanger, heat pipe heatexchanger has higher heat transfer efficiency and heat transfer capacity,has compacter structure and better temperature resistance, its heattransfer direction is reversible, it has smaller pressure loss, it’s safer andmore durable, has better control of dew point corrosion, etc. Theseadvantages make the heat pipe heat exchanger be used to maximize therecovery of low grade heat energy, has very good effect on the lowtemperature waste heat recovery.This article is about the gravity heat pipe heat exchanger and radialtype heat pipe heat exchanger, gravity heat pipe heat exchanger shellside brushing way of working medium, the radial heat pipe heatexchanger tube and effects of pipe structure to flow field andtemperature field in shell side are numerically simulated with thecomputational fluid dynamics software FLUENT, make analysis on theflow and heat transfer mechanism of heat pipe heat exchanger andsummarize law.The heat pipe and heat pipe heat exchanger are introduced, theresearch of heat pipe heat exchanger by experts and scholars at homeand abroad in recent years are summarized, and the research content isestablished. CFD numerical simulation method used in the research isintroduced.Design process of research object heat pipe heat exchanger isintroduced briefly. Then the pressure drop and temperature field of gravity heat pipe heat exchanger by longitudinal scouring are simulated,the effect to longitudinal scouring of heat pipe spacing and the length ofthe heat pipe is analyzed, the strengthening heat transfer effect of thelongitudinal finned on the heat pipe is simulated.Make radial type heat pipe heat exchanger as the research object,using numerical simulation method to study the radial heat pipe tubetemperature field and flow field and the influence of heat-exchangecharging rate, shell flow field and temperature field of radial type heatpipe heat exchanger is simulated, the effect of the inlet velocity, tubespacing, fin parameters to the flow and heat transfer is analyzed, thebest parameter range is found.
