With the fast development of modern society, we people need more energy to meetour demands. As a kind of ancient fossil energy, oil has always been one of the mainsources of our energy. Every oilfield’s oil reserve is decreasing quickly, pumping oilproduction began gradually to develop in the direction of long stroke and low speed.However, beam pumping unit, which is still widely used in every oilfield, need toincrease its size exponentially when improving its stroke. What’s more, beam pumpingunit’s efficiency is very low, which leads to the waste of resources and energies. Itconflicts to our desire of building a resources saving and environment friendly society.At the same time, the pulley pumping unit’s stroke and speed can be easily adjusted andit has high efficiency, therefore the development of pulley unit has been paidincreasingly more attention. However, the main obstacle for the application of thepulley pumping unit are lacking a reliable and nice reversing device.With energy conservation as starting point, in order to solve pulley pumping unit’sreversing problem, this paper designed a non-circular planetary gear reversing devicefor pulley pumping unit by using the theory of non-circular planetary gear train. Firstly,choose the optimal non-circular planetary train style, and then choose the suitablenon-circular gear according to analyzing and comparing. Based on a specific oil well,this paper evaluated the pulley pumping unit’s polished rod load at different stroke anddifferent speed. Secondly, equal the pulley pumping unit’s polished rod load to thenon-circular planetary gear reversing device, and analyze the extreme load on maincomponents, then analyze main components’ bearing capacity by using finite elementmethod. Finally, complete the detailed structure of the Non-circular planetary gearreversing device, and a three-dimensional model was established. Complete a pair ofelliptical gear meshing movement based on Pro/E, and complete the simulation ofnon-circular planetary gear train components by using ADAMS. Compared thesimulation results to theoretical calculated ones, the results verified that the theoreticalanalysis is correct. This design method is universal for other Wells, just in accordancewith the same method to carry on the design.In this paper, we designed a non-circular planetary gear reversing device to solvethe reversing problem of pulley pumping unit, it will lay a solid foundation for theworldwide prevalence of the pulley pumping unit. Sooner or later, the widely use of pulley pumping unit will come true.
