With the rapid development of economy and the remarkable improvement of people’s living standard, people are paying more and more attention to their health, which promotes the huge growth of Chinese herb medicine industry. Nowadays people are strict to the environment. Thus the treatment of sewage producing in the process of making Chinese herb medicine must keep up with the pace of the times. Only if we improve the capacity of sewage treatment can we meet people’s requirements for the environment. So it is very necessary to develop sewage treatment techniques suitable for Chinese herb medicine process. With hydrolysis-aerobic biological contact oxidation process as the object of the research, the text introduces the relevant tests of application performance in processing the wastewater from Chinese herb medicine.First the test studied the startup characteristics of hydrolysis, biological contact process respectively and the combination of both, and then did further researches on the invigoration effect of this technique in the post-dosing filler. By the study of the contaminants’removal characteristics, the test showed the result that COD, TN, TP, SS and the rate of color removal were raised to69.6%,85%,90.9%and58.5%. And the removal rate was relatively stable.The text studied the wastewater treatment effect of this plant by using the hydrolytic acidification-biological contact oxidation process under different conditions. The text discussed the influence of some factors including the changing HRT, HRT, hydrolyzate reflux ratio, sludge reflux ratio, anoxic-aerobic volume ratio, biological contact oxidation stage dissolved oxygen and sludge volume loading on the hydrolysis acidification-the biological contact oxidation pond treatment effect of Chinese herbal medicine treatment plant wastewater. The results showed that when the HRT of hydrolysis tank was24h, the rates of the indicators removal were74.2%,53.93%,58.98%,54.72%and41.93%. While when the HRT of the biological contact oxidation pond was36h, the removal rates were84.11%,88.34%,70.14%,74.82%and39.46%. The experiments proved that within a certain range, the longer the HRT was, the better the removal effect was. When the R in the hydrolysis tank was1.00, the removal rates were32.54%,58.61%,54.98%,41.23%and26.27%; While48.82%,59.19%,58.13%,56.39%and44.69%in the biological contact oxidation pond. The reactor effluent already met the requirements of the "Chinese class pHarmaceutical industrial water pollutant discharge standards"(GB21906-2008) about the discharge of Chinese herbal medicine wastewater. When the temperature was27℃, the measured data of biological contact oxidation pond SOUR was17.42mgDO/g MLSS-h, suggesting the biological contact oxidation tank maintained a high microbial activity. The tests on the relationship between the volume load and the removal capacity of COD showed with the increase of the volume of the load, the removal rate of COD had a gradual downward tendency.In the research on the transforming characteristics of the feathered toxic pollutants, a conclusion can be drawn that the average toxicity removal rate in the hydrolysis tank was22.51%and the average removal rate in biological contact oxidation pond was37.38%.The average toxicity of the final reactor effluent was0.069HgCl2TEQ, meeting the requirements about the herbal wastewater effluent.When this project is finished, the expenditures will decrease by1,873,200yuan per year. What’s more, this project also has good environmental and social benefits in terms of the pollutants emission reduction and creating jobs.
