With the change of water erosion, channel change and some other human factors,potential safety hazard from the metal pipeline have occurred from time to time,easily lead the pipe to egineering the accident of pipeline breakage, bending andfracture. So, we the urgently need for exploration of oil, gas and other importantpipeacrossing the river. Therefore, Detection for the depth of the underwater metalpipes has great significance.In this paper, the auther as the the pipe lying under the bed of river for research,using the microcomputer control technology, the theory of magnetic field distribution,software analysis techniques and spatial signal processing technology, study the metalpipeline depth detection. And research content and results are as the follows:1. When the metal pipeline is injected into a specific amplitude and frequency ofthe current, we research on the relationship between the strength and direction ofmagnetic field generated by the the pipeline in the space and the buried depth, and wecan get the final solution to testing the metal pipeline ambush depth.2. For the core with C8051F020controller, the auther designed the underwatermetal pipeline burial depth detection system, mainly contains power, reset circuit,voltage test circuit, analog signal processing circuit, external memory expansioncircuit, the host computer communication circuit. When designing the hadware circuit,the auther considered the accuracy and sensitivity of the testing system.3. Underwater metal pipeline depth of the detector sends data to the PC throughthe use of serial. PC analysis and processing then deduced underwater metal pipeline’sambush by receiving lower machine sends data.4. Using the developed underwater metal pipeline depth detection system do fieldexperiments in wild, by testing the magnetic field generated by the metal pipes in theair, the systm deduce the depth of the pipeline and comparing the result with theactual situation, and vertify the correctness of the instrument.
