The blast furnace is the key equipment in the long process of iron and steel smelting,the cooling wall is an important part of blast furnace body. In the blast furnace process, thecooling wall charge plays accommodate high temperature, thermal isolation, protecting therole of the furnace shell. In the blast furnace smelting process, cooling wall longendurance, dust, chemical corrosion, erosion, burden of poor working conditions of thehigh temperature thermal stress. In the production practice, the stave pipe damage occurs,in a small amount of water leakage, will cause difficulties for the blast furnace operation.Once the cooling water leaked into the furnace, ranging from "cool furnace" accident,namely the furnace heat loss, hot metal solidification; heavy then exploded, causing thesafety of human life and great economic losses. In the presence of cooling wall is damaged,only arrangements for blast furnace overhaul change, from this point that the cooling wallof blast furnace life largely determines the length of a generation furnace. In recent years,with the rapid expansion of China’s steel industry, blast furnace large-scale tendency, butthe domestic manufacturing technology of cooling wall and cooling wall still remain inmore than a decade ago, selection, structure of cooling wall in the process ofmanufacturing defects have not caused enough attention, so that the blast furnace in acertain number of work but have not reached a generation life, life and the life of blastfurnace cooling wall system mismatch problems emerged gradually. Therefore, analysis ofworking conditions of cooling stave, process optimization of cooling wall material,manufacturing, has the vital significance to extend the service life of the cooling wall.This paper briefly introduces the historical evolution of the structure anddevelopment of cooling stave working principle, in the blast furnace smelting process,discussed the important role of blast furnace closed loop soft water cooling system forprolonging the service life of blast furnace cooling wall. The paper introduces the structureand characteristics of the Shou Qin1200m3blast furnace cooling wall is arranged indifferent parts of the furnace body, closed loop soft water cooling system for the return ofseparate control characteristics, process flow, the selected process parameters, equipmentconfiguration, system testing and control and safety facilities etc.. Highlight the key blast furnace closed loop soft water cooling system is scientific management rationality andoperation of process technology, summarizes the cooling wall online repair methoddeveloped in production practice. Combined with the cooling wall of blast furnace toreplace the Shou Qin1200m3practice, through the analysis of blast furnace smeltingoperation and process cooling wall and manufacturing, to cause premature failure of thecooling wall were analyzed.To establish the finite element model of cooling wall using finite element analysissoftware, respectively, of cast iron cooling wall of nodular graphite cast steel cooling stave,copper cooling wall were on thermal stress. The results show that through the optimizationof material and structure, the cooling effect of the cooling wall can greatly improve.
