Supercritical fluid extraction technology is a new extraction technology bymeans of supercritical fluids as an extraction solvent. Supercritical fluid extractiontechnology in basic research and applied research has reached a very deep leveluntil now. The activated carbon adsorption with supercritical fluid extraction is usedin combination in the paper. Meanwhile higher purity aroma components can beobtained from rum.Firstly aroma components in rum are adsorbed on solid supports. Activatedcarbon with different materials and mesh is tested. Chromatographic column with1.8cm×20cm is experimented at a flow rate of1ml/min. The adsorption degree foraroma components represented by higher alcohols is determined by gaschromatography. And then the breakthrough curve is obtained. Thus, saturatedadsorption is get by the curve.Secondly according to the best adsorbents and adsorption capacity, the previousexperiment was amplified with3.6cm×120cm chromatographic column at a flow rateof4ml/min. Activated carbons with adsorbing aroma components are collected. Andthen supercritical extraction experiments are made.Last, activated carbons with adsorbing aroma components are extracted bysupercritical carbon dioxide extraction technology at different extraction temperaturesand pressures. Products obtained by extraction are analyzed by gas chromatography tomeasure its higher alcohol content. The optimum conditions are selected by calculatingaroma yield. Also activated carbons after supercritical extraction can be regenerated andrecycled, so the process is better economy.
