With the rising of oil prices, more concerns have been focused on the utilization ofC4hydrocarbons. Currently, the separatation of C4is an emerging way to use C4hydrocarbons reasonably. It mainly adopts the technology of extractive distillationseparation. It can be divided into a variety of techniques for different solvents used inthe extractive distillation of butane/butylene process. The most typical processcontains of acetonitrile (ACN) technology, morpholine (MOR) and N-formylmorpholine (NFM) technology, methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) and N-formyl morpholine(NFM) processes. At present, no matter at home and abroad, a comparative analysis ofreference data for these three processes is lacking. This paper will study and simulatethese three processes to provide the technical basis for extraction and separation ofbutane/butene device of parking, replacement of raw material composition, production stability operation, and improving product quality and energy efficiency,in order to reduce the energy consumption of the whole device investment level, improve the economic benefit.Using the simulation software of PROII determained the operating parameters inthe three processes, then their effects on the separation efficiency and the erergyconsumption. Moreover, the part was concertrated on the influence of the compositionof raw material on separation effet. The results indicated that change of relativecontent of N-butane/1-butene have exerted significance influence on MOR+NFMtechnology. The relative content of N-butane/1-butene was more than3:1,theMOR+NFM technology could not satify the technology target. Then, the content ofN-butene ranged from20%to60%in the raw material, the separation effect of theMEK+NFM prcess was the best.According to the simulation results, the part simulated the purity and recovery rateof butylene, the erergy consumption of the three technologies. The results indicated theerergy consumption of the MOR+NFM technology is maximum;the product purityand recovery rate of the ACN technology is the best. Moreover,it was focused on thecomprehensive evaluation of three kinds of extraction distillation separation ofbutane/butene processes from other views. In the solvent ratio, solvent composition, operating cost of the ACN technology was the lowest. Then,in the process, the solventstability, water emissions, impact on the catalyst of the follw-up process, laborprotection and so on, the MEK+NFM technology was optimal.
