Coalfield fires all over the world, has become a global disaster, seriously threaten tohuman health, natural environment and coal mine safety production, and caused hugeresource loss and environment pollution. In order to further study the laws of coalfield firearea oxidation combustion characteristic parameters,aiming at the characteristics of hightemperature and lean oxygen within combustion process of coalfield fire area, based on theinvestigation of characteristics and shortages of the existing coal spontaneous combustiondevices, the experimental facility for coalfield fire area combustion characteristic parameterswas developed independently in this paper. Besides, the performance of the experiment deviceget tested by some relevant tests, which verified the feasibility of the experiment device andprovided a new research method for the theory study of the coalfield fire area in future.In allusion to the practical needs for research topic, and draw lessons from the designcharacteristics of coal spontaneous combustion existing experiment device, designed anddeveloped experiment system for combustion characteristic parameters of coalfield fire area,mainly includes: the adjustable gas source group, high temperature reactor, coal sample tank,gas chromatographic instrument. Through optimizing design the structure of the device andthe way of temperature control, the simulated temperature of experimental device can reach1000℃high temperature, and temperature control performance is good. The experimentaldevice could be used to simulating coalfield fire combustion process under different oxygenconcentration, with different heating rate or heating way.On the basis of successful research and development experiment system, and drawlessons from the accumulated experience of the team for many years and many experiments,the suitable experimental conditions for coalfield fire combustion characteristic parameterswere determined. Coal fire area development process was simulated successfully by using theexperimental conditions, and the change rules of characteristic parameters were obtained. Theexperimental results shown that coal sample could continue reaction and release a lot of heat to maintain the development and expand of the coalfield fire area under the conditions of hightemperature and lean oxygen, which was consistent with the combustion characteristics ofcoalfield fire area; thereby the rationality and feasibility of the experiment device get verified.
