Roller presses are used in the cement industry and the mining industry widely because of their high yield, low energy consumption and stable production. With the development of the national economy and productivity, resource constraint becomes more prominent.“The12th five-Year Plan” proposed energy conservation and emissions reduction targets. In response to the national policy, the article optimized the design of working device in roller press. The article analysis the working principle, structure characteristics and dynamic characteristics in the work area of roller press. The three-dimensional finite element model of the pressing roll is built using the finite element analysis software of ANSYS workbench. The contact analysis of pressing roll on the roller and roller sleeve interference fit and column nails and column nail holes interference fit is done. Depending on the different interference fit, the contact stress distribution is studied and the impact on the each other’s contact is analyzed. Then the optimization of the pressing roll structure is done. Finally, the strength analysis on the squeeze roll is done. The three-dimensional finite element model of the frame is built using the three-dimensional software of CATIA. The static analysis and modal analysis of the frame are done using the finite element analysis software of ANSYS workbench. Taking the lightest weight of frame as optimization target, the plate thickness and rib thickness as design variables, and the stress, strain and frequency within a reasonable range as deign conditions to optimize the frame. Making optimized frame static analysis and modal analysis to determine the optimal result. Finally, the optimal design of the frame is done.By optimizing the pressing roll and the frame, the fits between column nails and column nail holes turn into clearance fit with the bottom of the column nails becoming arc-shaped. The optimal thickness of plate and rib is20mm and12mm. This result can not only reduce the stress of column nails and column nail holes and make the replacement of column nails convenient, but also can reduce the stress concentration area at the bottom of column nail holes, then increasing the life of the pressing roll. Besides it reduces the work intensity and production, and provides a theoretical basis for further study of the roller press working device.
