In the mining process of the fully mechanized working face in Hexi coal mine, the gas emission is of large amount, which seriously threats the mine safety production. First of all, the gas distribution and migration rule in the goaf, the ground pressure and fracture evolution law in the stope, the gas accumulation zone distribution characteristics, the gas drilling or roadway layout etc. are theoretically analyzed. Secondly, the gas pressure, the gas content, the permeability coefficient, the hole gas attenuation coefficient of3303working face are measured. Basing on analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of the traditional Y type ventilation way, the Y+L ventilation mode is proposed. Various of current gas drainage methods for high-gas coal mine are summarized. Comprehensive gas extraction methods which contains adjacent coal bed gas drainage, fractured zone gas drainage and goaf gas pipe drainage is practiced in3303fully mechanized coal face of Hexi coal mine. The results show that:3303working face coal seam of the Hexi coal mine belongs to the high gas coal seam, and can be drainage; The gas concentration throughout the area is effectively controlled by Y+L ventilation, and the gas gauge is put an end to; Through application and implementation of various gas drainage technologies, it reduces the gas concentration in the working face and the total return air roadway and produces a safe environment for the working face mining.
