As technology of ocean exploration and mining continues development, marine engineering equipment manufacturing and construction methods are constantly improved. Subsea pipeline damage and oil spills may occurres because of uncertainties and the increase of subsea pipeline and the increase of the useful life of the pipeline. Once the pipeline damage and leakage,resulting in not only interruptions of oil and gas gathering and production of the enterprise and national economic losses, but also environment pollution and ecological damage of the marine. As the damage of the marine environment and marine ecological caused by the leak of submarine pipeline leak is extremely serious, and the plugging operations of deepsea pipeline are very difficult, you need specialized equipment to achieve the isolation of leak quickly.Emergency isolation of the leak of deep-sea pipeline is still blank in China. The U.S. Gulf of Mexico oil spill in April2010alert,technology research for fast block and development of emergency sealing device is significant.The deepwater pipeline inner-plugger, a submarine pipeline leakage plugging technology topics need to be resolved, is a mechanical plugging device after the leakage of the deepwater subsea pipeline.This paper provides an overview of the development status of the deepwater pipeline inner-plugger and contrast the characteristics of typical deepwater pipeline inner-pluggers. By analyzing the foreign typical deepwater pipeline inner-plugger (mechanism and working principle), we proposed a structure scheme based on anchored deepwater pipeline inner-plugger with independent intellectual property rights.In this paper, the anchor setting mechanism of deepwater pipeline inner-plugger is designed and developed, and the locking slider and the taper actuator of the anchor setting mechanism is analyzed and optimized. The sealing mechanism of the deepwater pipeline inner-plugger is designed and developed. By the analysis of the sealing material properties, the material the reasonable sealing is determined and the shape of the seal has been optimized.According to the design, a engineering prototype is manufactured and tested. For the tracking the foreign advanced technology and raising the level of our deepwater pipeline plugging, the research result give a foundation for the further research and design of the deepwater pipeline inner-plugger.
