Magnesite is one of the important raw materials used basic refractory. Magnesia refractory in Liaoning accounted for40%of the refractory material. Now the low grade magnesite currently only is used as raw materials of low-grade refractory material or construction materials. Using the physical processing method for low grade magnesite with desilicating and removing impurity to improve low grade of magnesite, of which can be applied to the production of high-grade refractory material. It is a one of the most important problems to solve.The process mineralogy research with low grade magnesite in Gao Zhuang of economic development zone in Yingkou city of Liaoning province, determine technological process of "selective grinding-preliminary classification-selective flotation" by technology research and optimization test which are selective grinding, preliminary classification, priority flotation, mixed flotation, etc.In process mineralogy study, determine the ore belongs to high silicom high calcium type and low grade magnesite. The chlorite also has comprehensive utilization value besides magnesite is used as useful mineral extraction.In selective test study, make sure to use rod mill for grinding equipment and grinding grain size of0.074mm accounted for82.80%. In preliminary classification test, make sure to use Φ150mm and Φ75mm hydrocyclone series classification talc, chlorite and magnesite. By the optimization of process parameters, MgO content is42.00%in base flowmixed ore with Φ150mm and Φ75mm, talc content is45.70%in cyclone relief, chloritecontent is7.90%.In flotation test study, determine separately the flotation process with hydrocyclone overflow products and bottom flow products.Through the optimization of process parameters, chlorite grade is91.99%, the recovery rate is90.97%, concentrate MgO grade of46.28%in magnesite, and recovery rate is77.13%.
