Roadheader is the main equipment for integrated mechanized mine tunneling at present,and is widely applied in middle thick coal seam mine tunneling. There are abundant thincoal seam mine reserves in our country, along with the deep developing of the thin coalseam mining, requirement of thin coal seam roadheader is increasing quickly. Researchingcorresponding technology of this kind of roadheader, insuring its adaptability to the thincoal seam condition, safety and reliability, is becoming significantly important in reality.In order to guarantee reliable performance of EBZ160B thin coal seam roadheader, thisarticle checked functional parameters, analyzed the whole machine dynamic features,strength and stiffness of its main transmission parts and components by experiencecalculation and computer aided analysis. After experience formula and theoreticcalculation, this article checked its main parameters and cutting reducer gears’ strength,confirmed the basic character and reliability of the gear transmission. Because of apparentlimitations of traditional formula in complex movement calculation and constructioncomponents analysis, MATLAB and ADAMS engineering software were adopted todynamic analysis of cutting arm lifting and slewing, traveling and climbing, and processof machine supporting, and to check the general performance as well. This article appliedengineering software ANSYS Workbench mode and solidworks simulation plug-in to thefinite element analysis of cutting parts, shovel board, body frame and slewing platform,track beam and back support in assembling mode, checking overall strength and stiffnessof various components, confirmed stress status of the bolts. It provided scientificfoundation for safe and reliable performance of the machine.This article calculated and checked functional parameters and transmission parts’strength, simulated dynamic features of the whole machine, analyzed key components byfinite element analysis, and provided theoretic foundation for reasonable design andreliable performance. Through industrial experiment, the machine is proved to be reliable,and computer aided analysis in design is significant practically.
