Grease is a liquid or semi-solid lubricant,the lubricant is formed by using one or morethickeners dispersed in a is in the lubricating oil. The product quality indicators of Anshansurface grease production unit comply with the current surface grease standard (SH/T0387-2005). The dropping point is not less than58℃, But the low-temperature performanceindicator is barely qualified. And improving the low temperature performance indicatorimpact the improvement of the dropping point, and the requirements of users can not besatisfied. Therefore, this experiment studys the rope lubricant surface grease (hereinafterreferred to as surface grease), by adjusting production formula, in order to improve the mainlyquality indicators of surface grease. This paper mainly discusses the preparation of ropelubricant surface grease.The main content of this paper is divided into three stages:(1) The first stage: The orthogonal experiment is designed to determine the preparationconditions of the surface grease. First, the thickener is used in the original experimentaccording to the formulation; Then, The orthogonal experiment is designed to determine thebasic experimental conditions:the reaction temperature is140℃and the reaction time is2h;Finally, the surface grease is synthesized according to the new determined experimentalconditions and the dropping point and low temperature performance of the surface grease istest.(2) The second stage: The low temperature performance of surface grease improved.First,the original thickener is replaced by the new thickener gradually and then completely by usinga new formulation. Then, the best ratio of surface grease is determined. The results show thatthe best ratio of surface grease: Base oil: Thickener: Tackifier=7.4:1.2:1.4.(3) The third stage: The dropping point of surface grease is improved. First, the impactof the amount of friction increasing agent to the dropping points and low temperatureperformance of the surface grease are investigated, Then, the thickener is replaced by thefriction increasing agent, Finally, the best ratio of surface grease (with friction increasingagent)is determined. The results show that the best ratio of surface grease (with frictionincreasing agent): Base oil: Thickener: Tackifier: Friction increasing agent=6.5:1.3:1.0:1.3.
