Abstract: The mold in the modern industrial production plays an irreplaceableposition.compared with the similar foreign products,The current domestic productionof steels has a very big gap. improve the performance of hot-work die steel and obtainthe steel in mold industry with the low alloy content, excellent wear resistance, lowcost of production, and good comprehensive mechanical properties has an importantpractical significance.Based on the series of experiments0f65Mn steel and60Si2Mn steel,this paperstudied the influence of heat treatment process on the microstructure and mechanicalproperties of hot-work die steels. By studying its matrix organization found that thecontrol of organization after quenching and tempering is the key to determine themechanical properties of65Mn steel and60Si2Mn steel.by testing and analyzing,wecan draw some conclusions as follows:(1) No matter what kind of heat treatment process,the hardness of65Mn steel ishigher than60Si2Mn steel.After water quenching and low temperature tempering, theorganization obtained has the highest hardness.what,s more,Regardless of quenchingmedium is water or oil, material hardness are present downward trend with theincrease of tempering temperature.(2) The following conclusions from the macro analysis of the fracture:fracturetypes of two materials are normal fault type fracture, and fracture of65Mn steel isstraighter than60Si2Mn steel, combined with the data which obtained from theimpact test,we can found that60Si2Mn steel has good shock resistance.(3) Obtained from microscopic analysis of the fracture, the toughness of65Mnand60Si2Mn of oil quenching and low temperature tempered samples is better thanwater quenching and low temperature tempered samples, water quenching and lowtemperature tempered samples have a good hardenability, and the toughness of the60Si2Mn steel is better than65Mn steel.(4) The data obtained from the wear experiments suggest that the wear-resisting performance of65Mn steel and60Si2Mn steel under the same heat treatment processis almost equal. Whether60Si2Mn steel or65Mn steel, the wear-resistingperformance under oil quenching and low temperature tempering is best.Above all,60Si2Mn under oil quenching and low temperature temperingprocessing comprehensive performance is better than65Mn steel.
