The minerals of Feldspar groups is called Feldspar Collectively. It is a commonkind of aluminum silicate minerals,consised of Calcium,Sodium and Potassium. Itsmain purpose is as the raw materials of the glass industry and ceramic industry. Inrecent years, with the development of the ceramics, and glass industry, more and morehigh-grade products are needed, so the demand for high quality feldspar rawmaterial is expanding. Although mineral resources is ample in our country, it containsthe colored impurities such as Iron, Titanium, Black and White mica, in general.Among them, Iron impurities are the main harmful substances in the low-qualitymineral raw materials. If the majority of feldspar want to be applied in industry, theiron impurities must be removaled.Aiming at this problem, a research into the feldspar mineral raw materials ofhigh iron content used by a company, as the ceramic raw materials is made in thepaper.1. The scanning electron microscope, XRD and other analytical instruments areused into a detailed analysis and research on the structural characteristics of feldspar.The test results show that Fe2O3>0.90%, TiO2>0.10%, so it belong to low gradeone.2. Laboratory experiments: in the light of Structural characteristics of thefeldspar, some treatment processing method were used to carry out research on ironremoval such as the ultrasonic acid leaching method, processing method ofmicrowave enhanced thiourea, magnetic separation combined separation flotation.Determine the best iron removal method, technological process and technologicalparameters. Magnetic separation combined separation is deternined the best methodof iron removal,the benefieiation proeess flow of “grinding-separation flotation-magnetic separation” was adopted in the laboratory experiments. A high—gradefeldspar coneentrate was obtained containing0.21percent Fe2O3with the yield of80pereent, Fe2O3<0.25%. This final feldspa concentrate meets QB/T1636-1992standard for the first-grade product.3. The industrial experiments: the benefieiation proeess flow of“crush—grinding—sieving—magnetic separation—separation flotation—magneticseparation—dehydration” was adopted in the semi-industrial experiments. Thetechniquen had already been in practical production application. Feldspar coneentratewas obtained containing0.23percent Fe2O3with the yield of70pereent.Fe2O3<0.25%, the whiteness of product up to65degrees or so. This final feldspaconcentrate meets QB/T1636-1992standard for the first-grade product.The ultrasound and microwave technology are applied in purification of feldspar minerals firstly in this paper, has been proved feasibility, and discuss ultrasonic power,frequency and microwave power on the influence of Fe2O3content; A new proeesspurifieation technique of low-grade ealkaline feldspar had been gained through thispaper and researehes coneerned, which had already been in practical productionapplication. Feldspar coneentrate was obtained containing0.23percent with the yieldof70pereent. Fe2O3<0.25%, this final feldspa concentrate meets QB/T1636-1992standard for first grade product..It had changed the quality of feldspar from lowgrade production to high grade one in Guangdong and Guangxi areas, and expandedthe source of high grade feldspar material in our country.
