Jack-up ocean platform and its derrick play an important position in the development ofocean oil and gas. In our country, most of jack-up platforms in serving have reached their lifeand how to ensure these jack-up platform safety has become the important research topics.This paper summarize the research progress and status of the jack-up ocean platform andderrick, and putting forward that the study of a whole platform and derrick structure for isessential, and regarding laboratory jack-up ocean platform model as research object, havingestablished three dimensional limited element numerical model of the whole platform andderrick structure, and using limited element software ANSYS to respectively analyzeperformance of the derrick and the whole structure of platform and derrick in maximum staticload conditions, by comparison, the results verify the necessity of establishing the wholestructure. Through analyzing and handling experimental date of stress and modal testing,stressing features and low natural frequency and mode of vibration are gotten, and analyzingthe source of error between the value of simulation and testing value, and then, the finiteelement numerical model is optimized, and accuracy of the model improved.Having a static analysis on the jack-up ocean platforms under operating conditions andstorms self-existent conditions, and reaching the regularity of the stress and strain of derrickand ocean platforms, grasping the stress characteristics of the whole structure, and providing areference for a subsequent thorough study of ocean platforms derrick structure.
