Optical glass elements of complex structure are difficult to fabricate in opticalmanufacturing industry. With the improvement of high-performance optical products, however, the need for high-precision complex structure optical glass in market is alsogrowing. Glass molding press has been developed in recent years. It can overcome thedisadvantages of traditional machining method, but it will also lead to qualityproblems caused by trapped gas phenomenon. Glass molding press technology withassistance of ultrasonic vibration is proposed in this thesis in order to improve thefilling performance and obtain high-precision glass elements. On the basis of literature review, glass molding press technology, ultrasonicvibration technology and glass rheological properties were introduced. The ultrasonicvibration system was designed based on the purpose of investigation. On account ofrheological properties of the molten glass, nonlinear finite element software MSC.Marc was used to make numerical simulation analysis of filling performance ofV-groove glass elements. The main research contents are as follows.(1) The types, design principle and method of piezoelectric transducer andultrasonic horn were introduced and designed in this thesis.(2) Rheological properties of molten glass were analyzed from the points of viewof creep and stress relaxation. Three classic rheological models for optical glass wererespectively discussed in detail. The models are Maxwell model, Kelvin model andBurgers model.(3) MSC. Marc software was used to make simulation analysis of optical glassmolding press process, and the influences of three molding parameters on fillingperformance of the molten V-groove glass were investigated. The analysis of thecombination of different processing parameters can provide references for the optimalprocessing parameters.(4) MSC. Marc software was used to make simulation analysis of four differentmicro-structure elements in molding process. The filling performances of moltenglass in different micro-structure moulds were compared.(5) The influences of molding temperature and pressing velocity on fillingperformance of glass were respectively analyzed under vibration and withoutvibration. The enhancement effect of glass filling performance by vibration wasinvestigated through comparative analysis. Analysis of filling performance of glass elements in glass molding press andstudy on the influence of vibration on filling performance of glass elements in thethesis promote process optimization research of high-precision glass elements.
