Objectives:The focus of current environmental health and occupational health work is gradually concentrated into the surrounding environment and the air quality monitoring of industrial enterprises.The main instrument we use for collecting the samples in the air is the active sampler which principle is to use the aerodynamic force to make the gas which is under the test through the adsorbent so as to leave the chemicals on it.Based all above,we finish the collecting of sample in the air,but such acquisition method has its deficiency that its operation need energy to maintain which does not apply to sampling for a long time.The passive sampler is the device for the determination of the vapor or gaseous contaminant in the air, its basic principle is according to the molecμlar permeate or diffusion in the air.In contrast with the active sampler, The passive sampler’s main characteristic is that it can be run without the aerodynamic force or power, so it was also called no-power sampler. Except mentioned above, this kind of passive sampler have characteristic of light,small cubic, easily maintained,easily operated, and safe. The device can be used for kinetic monitoring, also can expose the sampler in the air for several hours, which can be used for the evaluate the environment quality. Now the passive sampler is becoming the researching center of the environment hygiene, occupational hygiene, analytical chemistry, prevention medicine. This article based on the principle of passive sampler, design one kind of the gas passive sampler, and evaluated their function under the experience condition for the determination of ethyl acetate, propyl acetate, butyl acetate. Methods:The design of the tuber-type passive sampler:according to the principle of the passive sampler,design one kind of tube-type passive sampler. The selection of the sorbet:use the active carbon as the sorbet,. The function evaluation:prepare certain concentration ethyl acetate, propyl acetate, butyl acetate in the aerator tank, and then put the gas passive sampler at the aerator tank, expose the gas passive sampler to the chemicals for several hours, and then take the gas passive sampler out, and determine the chemicals in order to evaluate the function. The function index include analytical recovery、sampling range、sampling rate、the capacity、the storage stability the shelf life、the precision、the environmental factor (humidity、 temperature、wind velocity), and so on.Results:Evaluate the function of the tube-type gas passive sampler under the laboratory condition, the result as follows:1. The analytical recovery of the ethyl acetate, propyl acetate, butyl acetate were82.13%、84.20%、82.86%respectively, all of the analytical recovery were exceed75%, which can meet the request of the regulation.2. The sampling rates of the tube-type sampler for the ethyl acetate, propyl acetate, butyl acetate were40.78±0.68、58.28±2.20、69.14±1.83ml/min, ml/min, all of the sampling time were exceed25ml/min3. The capacity of the tube-type passive sampler for the ethyl acetate, propyl acetate, butyl acetate were31.17、31.74、32.14mg, and the shortest sampling time of the tube-type for the ethyl acetate, propyl acetate, butyl acetate was30minutes.4. The sampling scope of the tube-type passive sampler for the ethyl acetate, propyl acetate, butyl acetate were(0.5~5)×PC-TWA, which can meet the request of the regulation.5. The shelf life of the tube-type passive sampler for the ethyl acetate, propyl acetate, butyl acetate were P>0.05,sampler can remain stable within30d after completion of assembly.6. The storage stability of the tube-type passive sampler for the ethyl acetate, propyl acetate, butyl acetate were P>0.05,which illustrate that after the completion of sampling,the passive sampler can keep stable within14d at room temperature.7.The relative standard deviation (RSD) of the tube-type passive sampler and the badge-type passive sampler were less than10%, which can meet the request of practical application.8.Under the temperature10-40℃、the wind velocity50-600cm/s and the humidity20%-80%, the passive sampler for the determination of the the ethyl acetate, propyl acetate, butyl acetate were P>0.05,which have no statistically significance.Conclusions:1. we design one kind of passive sampler, based on the principle of the passive sampler. This sampler is light weight,small cubic, easily maintained,easily operated, safe,which comply with the design principle of the passive sampler.2. Under the experience the condition, we evaluate the function of the passive sampler for the determination of the ethyl acetate, propyl acetate, butyl acetate.the result can meet the requirement of the passive sampler, The research above about the passive samplers show that the sampling rates, capacity,storage stability and analytical recovery of the passive sampler designed by ourselves is suitable for realistic use, especially for the occupation hygiene and environmental hygiene.
