Groundwater as an important component of water resources has been seriously polluted recent years, resulted in significant impact on human environment. It is imperative to conduct the remediation of groundwater contamination. In groundwater remediation field, the pump and treat technology has great advantages among many remediation techniques for its extensive remediation range in remediation. In previous study, the relationship between concentration of pollutants and the monitoring wells pumping rate is still inexplicit and short in accuracy. In consideration of the high cost in P&T remediation progressis, it is nessesary for decision makers to take cost, remediation time, the error into account, and seek the scientific and rational remediation decision. In this paper, on the basis of previous research of surrogates model between pollutant concentration and pumping rate, research combined the PROMETHEE and GAIA approach to find the appropriate decision in a multi-objective decision groundwater remediation problem. The method first introduced surrogates model express relationships between pollutant concentrations in monitoring wells and pupming rates in integrated simulation, inference and optimization methods ISIOM method based on the quadratic surface analysis methods (SQRSA). Then a multi-objective approach PROMETHEE (Preference Ranking Organization method for Enrichment Evaluations) is applied to rank the alternative decisions combine with the GAIA (Geometrical Analysis for Interactive Assistance). The conflicts between criteria and the performances for alternatives was illustrated through the GAIA analysis. The desired pumping rates group were also obtained by the final results of PROMETHEE Ⅱ method under each remediation scenerio.
