The phenomenon of urban water bodies being black and odorous occurs frequently nowdays. Function of water body and ecotope are severely damaged. So it is extremely urgent to remediate urban black-odorous water and restore the ecological environment of urban water bodies. In order to explore remediation technology of urban black-dorous water, carbon fibre based biofilm carrier (CF) was used as experimental subject. The biofilm culturing status, operating parameters and its remediation effectiveness on the removal of pollutants were investigated. Results showed that:(1) The biofilm culturing status, operating parameters and its remediation effectiveness on the removal of pollutants were investigated in laboratory scale. Results showed that:there was a strong adsorption of the CF biofilm to the suspended substances in the polluted waters and the velocity of biofilm culturing was relatively fast. The amount of biofilm maximized after10days under the condition of aeration.(2) In the experiment of optimal density conditions of CF, the effect of CF density to removal rate of pollutants was studied. After3weeks, results indicated that the removal rate of groups with CF density of40cm2/Lĺ'Œ60 cm2/L were higher among the4grounps. Buti in engineering application,40cm2/L is more pratical when taking removal efficiency and cost into consideration. SPSS statistics was used in the correlation analasis between CF density and the concentration of pollutants, which showed that the larger the CF density, the higher the removal rate of CODCr. But there was no significant correlation between CF desnity and TP, NH3-N or TN.(3) In order to investigate the influence of different hydraulic retention time on the removal rate of pollutants after CF biofilm was formed, the hydraulic retention time was set0.5,1and2d, respectively. After3weeks’experiment, the removal rates of CODCr, TP and NH3-N indicated that:2d>1d>0.5d. The results suggested that the removal rate of pollutants was in direct proportion to hydraulic retention time in this experiment.(4) The effect of black-odorous treatment of the2biofilm carriers, Carbon fibre and Aqua Mats, were put into comparison in pilot test. After50days’ trentment, results showed that:the transparency of CF group rised from38cm to95cm while AM group rised from44cm to83cm. The transparency of CF group was higher and more stable than AM group. Besides, some viviparidae appeared in CFgroup in late stage of experiment, which suggested an improvement of the water quality. In the aspect of remediation effect, the removal rate of CF group were76.31%、68.29%、76.68and66.92%, respectively and the removal rate of AM group were73.54%、72.06%、76.65%and79.31%, respectively.
