Synergistic nitrogen fertilizer can promote the nitrogen use efficiency (NUE).The commercially available synergistic nitrogen fertilizer in our country is Peptide(polyaspartic acid, Pasp) synergistic urea. Alginate-derived oligosaccharide (ADO)was firstly applied to agriculture as nitrogen fertilizer synergist. The article made arelatively comprehensive study on the effects of ADO on the different nitrogen formsand its application in cash crops and food crops. The results can guide the productionof ADO synergistic nitrogen fertilizer and be helpful to promote the NUE, reduce thecosts of agriculture, and develop green agriculture.1. ADO (Mw≈3763g/mol) was applied to prepare nitrate, ammonium, andamide ADO synergistic fertilizer. The ratios of ADO/N ranged from1%to4%.Normal nitrogen fertilizer (none of ADO) and Pasp synergistic nitrogen fertilizer (2%of Pasp) were prepared as control. And the plant dry matter and total nitrogen weretested at DAE1, DAE8, DAE15, DAE22, and DAE29to determine the optimum ratioof ADO/N and the proper nitrogen form in the pot experiment. The results showedthat the optimum ADO/N of nitrate, ammonium, and amide ADO fertilizers were2%,3%, and2%, respectively. Moreover, the synergism of ADO amide fertilizer was thebest, and the rape grew well and didn’t wither. Compared with normal urea, ADOnitrate fertilizer promoted the growth of the rape at DAE1, DAE8, DAE22, andDAE29. ADO ammonium fertilizer did at DAE8, DAE15, and DAE22. ADO amidefertilizer did at DAE1, DAE8, DAE15, DAE22, and DAE29. Compared with Paspfertilizers, ADO nitrate fertilizer did at DAE22and DAE29, ADO ammoniumfertilizer did at DAE8, DAE15, and DAE22. ADO amide fertilizer did at DAE1,DAE8, DAE15, DAE22, and DAE29. 2. ADO synergistic urea at different ratios of ADO/N (1%~5%) was prepared.And then the micro zone experiments of leaf vegetables (rape and crowndaisy),solanaceous vegetables (cucumber and eggplant) and tuberous vegetables (potato andradish) were conducted with Pasp synergistic urea as positive control and normal ureaas blank control to study the effects of ADO synergistic urea on different vegetables.The results indicated that ADO urea was more beneficial to leaf and solanaceousvegetables than Pasp synergistic urea, but was not for tuberous vegetables. Comparedwith Pasp urea, With the ADO/N of3%, the yield and NUE of rape was increased by14.35%,48.80%. The yield and NUE of crowndaisy was increased by36.64%,44.92%. With the ADO/N of5%, the yield and NUE of cucumber was increased by29.94%,330.18%. The yield and NUE of eggplant was increased by20.29%,27.25%.With the ADO/N of5%, the yield of potato was decreased by1.74%, but the NUEwas increased by41.82%when compared with Pasp urea. With the ADO/N of3%, theyield of radish was decreased by14.43%, but the NUE was increased by54.07%when compared with Pasp urea.3. ADO synergistic fertilizer with a certain ratio of ADO/N was prepared.Compared with Pasp synergistic urea, normal urea and water, field experiment ofwheat was performed to study the effects of ADO synergistic urea on wheat. Yield permu, thousand kernel weight, grains per spike of the wheat, NUE, ear length, prtoteinand carbonhydrate content and other data were tested. The results showed as follows:yield per mu of wheat fertilizerd with ADO urea was680.96kg, which was21.30%,17.75%more than normal and Pasp urea, respectively. And thousand kernel weightand grains per spike of the wheat were improved well. NUE of wheat fertilizerd withADO urea was43.18%, which was increased by82.12%,43.36%, moreover, ADOurea improved the ear length and made the ear full, but hadn’t improved protein andcarbohydrates content.
