This article takes the Shuimo river as the research object, by investigating theShuimo river pollution sources、water quality monitering, using predecessor`s workexperience of water quality monitering, according to the specific pollutioncharacteristics of Shuimo river valley and relevant national standards, based on theprinciples of investigative monitoring sewage sampling frequency, we decided tocollect samples in August2013, during the period of no precipitation. Used thenductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-OES)to measuremetallic element and its content in the Shuimo river environment,and analyzed itsdistribution and changing trend. Provided references for achieving the goal of waterquality management and management planning of relevant departments. The mainconclusions of this paper includes:First, from analyzing the metal content of each section: in tang ci chang springsection, three macroelements`contents are relatively high, Na(226mg/L),Mg(43.1mg/L),Ca(195mg/L).The content of sodium exceeded the《Drinking WaterHealth Standards》(200mg/L), but the rest of them are within the scope of《DrinkingWater Health Standards》. There are two possible reasons for the high content of thatthree elements: one is that the hardness of that spring is very high. The other is thatthe secondary pollution of groundwater. In qi fang bridge section, the changes ofcontent of each element in one day are not very obvious,and didn`t exceed the 《waterquality standard of irrigation》(GB5084-2005). But the contents of several elementsare relatively high, including sodium,magnesium, and calcium.contents of somemetal elements showed an increasing trend,get to0.01mg/L, pointing out that thewater quality has changed on this section. In lian feng bridge section, the metalcontent shows a spetial changes in the morning(10:20), noon(12;40), andafternoon(18;20), the metal contant decline from morning to noon, arise again from noon to afternoon, of which the metal contant in the afternoon is higher thanmorning. The content of18kinds of metals are all higher than0.01(mg/L), in whichseveral elements`content has reached the surface water environment quality standardbasic standard limit(GB3838-2002)Ⅲ、Ⅳ. Cadmium has reached the surface waterenvironment quality standard basic standard limit(GB3838-2002)Ⅴ. The overallwater quality in this section is poor, and it Can’t meet the agricultural irrigation. Thereason for the higher metal content maybe some firms discharge sewage in theevening. In mi quan bridge section, the metal content has increased obviously,espetially the rare metals Be, heavy metal Hg, V, Cd, their content has all increased tothe surface water environment quality standard basic standard limit(GB3838-2002)Ⅴ, and the Ni has exceeded the limits. In this section,the content of Na and Mg hassome change, but when compared with bank the content has declined. The otherelement content are all close to the surface water environment quality standard basicstandard limit(GB3838-2002)Ⅴ. In huang qu bridge section,contents of metalelements are obviously very high. Although micro elements like Na, Mg, Ca, Li, Alhave not been enrolled in the《national standard of surface water environment quality》(GB3838-2002), we can see its degree of contamination. Heavy metals like V, Hg,Be, Ni and rare metal titanium have exceeded the standard limit. The severalremaining elements have already reached the surface water environment qualitystandard basic standard limit(GB3838-2002)Ⅴ.Second, from the overall analysis of element content change from upstream todownstream, the entire contents of metal elements in Shuimo river environmentincrease successively from upstream to downstream. Content of each metalelements on the each section has the same order from less to more, tang ci changspring section<qi fang bridge section<lian feng bridge section<mi quan bridge<huang qu section. This result is fully inconsistant with the water quality functionaldivision of Shuimo river that was issued in the bulletin of the environment quality condition in urumqi last year, and verify again the feature of water contamination ofShuimo river valley.Third, this paper used ICP-OES to measure metal element and analyze thecontent and distribution of these metals in Shuimo river. This method has thecharacteristics of simple, high sensitivity, multielement measurements at the sametime, rapid analysis in the water analysis domain. So, ICP-OES has high applicationvalue in water quality analysis.
