Crude oil sources and water quality are different during the oil refining process, so that waste liquid compositions are complex, and accompanied by extremely unpleasant stench. It has high Chemical Oxygen Consumption (COD) and toxic. At the same time, it’s easy to corrode equipment. Waste liquid becomes widespread pollutants in the domestic refineries. The dye wastewater contains many kinds of organic compounds and toxic substances, and could cause cancinogenic and mutagenicity. They can cause serious harm to humans, animals, fish and other aquatic organisms, so that looking for efficient and economic treatment method of organic wastewater has becomes a hot issue in the field of water treatment in the world. Adsorption technology has been proved to be an effective and low-cost wastewater treatment technology. Therefore, good adsorption materials is needed to be prepared, its adsorption performance and cyclic usability become the main research content of this study.Organic impurities by bentonite adsorption from the wastewater are as carbon source in the paper, then to prepare bentonite/carbon composite material in the presence of high temperature protective atmosphere roasting. Bentonite/Carbon composite material is recycling used at wastewater adsorption. A series of samples are characterized by SEM, FTIR, BET and UV-vis spectrophotometer. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) It is concluded that the best experimental conditions:adsorbent additive amount of5g in the100ml wastewater, ultrasonic2h, regeneration temperature500℃, when bentonite is used as adsorbent to adsorb refining wastewater by changing the dosage of adsorbent, operation condition, reaction time, etc..(2) When bentonite is adsorbing refining wastewater, the use of ultrasonic can make layered structure of bentonite more porous, accelerate the movement of free molecules in wastewater solution, then make these molecules and ions between the layers of bentonite to achieve a good contact. So impurities, such as organic, contained in wastewater can be better extract. Good adsorption effect is got.(3) Impurities such as organic matters in wastewater are adsorbed in the unique layered structure of bentonite, then they are as carbon sources to synthesize bentonite/carbon composites in a certain temperature in the tube furnace (argon as protective gas) by calcination.(4) The bentonite/carbon composite adsorbent was used to treat high concentration refining alkaline wastewater and dye simulated wastewater (MB or RhB solution). The measurement of COD values of oil refining wastewater and ultraviolet spectra figures of dye wastewater are shown that coupling adsorption effect of bentonite/carbon composite material makes adsorption effect good. The fitting of Langmuir and Freundlich isothermal equation was carried out about the adsorption of adsorbent. Through comparing the correlation coefficient R2, bentonite/carbon composite material for the adsorption of MB and RhB can be a very good agreement with the Freundlich equation, and the process of two kinds of dye adsorption are spontaneous processes.
