With the incessant development of iron and steel industry,pellet has become anindispensable material for blast furnace and pellet technology has been more andmore advanced.Although the pelletizing plant has advanced automation level as awhole,there are still shortcomings in the aspect of condition monitoring and faultdiagnosis.For this purpose,this paper studies fault alarm and fault diagnosis methodsabout the asynchronous motor of pelletizing plant and its intelligent controller.Thepaper has two parts: one is to study the automatic alarm subsystem of the intelligentcontrollers;the second studies the fault diagnosis subsystem of the asynchronousmotor.Both can realize rapid positioning and rapid diagnosis of fault.This paper raises a new method of fault alarm and fault diagnosis that based onfault library,device library,for the automatic alarm subsystem of the intelligentcontroller.Firstly,the paper designs the structure frame of the automatic alarmsubsystem;secondly,it introduces a method about condition monitoring of inverter,and so on based on industrial Ethernet and Profibus technology;finally,it designs afriendly man-machine interface in the Rockwell company configuration softwareFactoryTalk View SE with its own VBA language, realizes rapid positioning andrapid diagnosis of fault.This paper raises a method that is suitable for the requirements of the pr-oductionfor the fault diagnosis subsystem about the asynchronous motor of pelletizing plant.Firstly,the paper expounds the concept and principle of the fault tree technology andexpert system,analyses the advantages of the fusion of both,and raises a method aboutthe fault diagnosis expert system based on fault t-ree.Secondly,it establishes the faulttrees of common fault phenomena on the b-asisof studying the structure、workingprinciple and common fault of asynchronous motor.Then it designs expert system offault diagnosis based on fault tree.Finally,it also developes friendly man-machineinterface in FactoryTalk View SE and implements the knowledge search process ofbased on fault tree and expert diagnosis process.The whole system not only realizes the automatic alarm、the rapid positioningand rapid diagnosis of fault,also realizes recording and analysis of the device faultinformation,and is conducive to the maintenance of device and the improvement ofefficiency about the whole production system.
