In recent years, with the development of CAD technology, the application of3D solidmodeling technology is more and more widely. But3D dimensional tolerance annotation providedby the CAD software don’t meet the requirements of new generation GPS. Meanwhile, dimensiontolerance, geometric tolerance and surface roughness marked in the product3D model are onlysymbols, don’t have the engineering semantics. Tolerance information can’t be shared insubsequent work, thus impeding the transmission of design information to the manufacturingprocess. This situation does not meet the requirements of digital product production. Therefore,basis on new generation of GPS the problem which product-oriented3D model, research ondimensional tolerance design, representation and extraction urgent need to solve for digitalproduct design and manufacturing.In this topic, study conducted in-depth and meticulous for the key technologies ofdimensional tolerance design, representation and extraction basis on new generation of GPS. Thecontents can be described as the following:(1) In this paper, it gave the overall scheme and the composition scheme based on3Dtolerance design system GPS and the composition scheme, studied the theory foundation and thekey technologies which referd to the3D tolerance design and representation. Include: A newgeneration of GPS digital modeling technology, based on the model definition technology (MBD),the key technologies in the second development of Creo and so on.(2) Researched the specification for dimensions of based on new generation GPS. Face toThe three-dimensional entity model, it developmented dimension tolerance design, inquiring anddimensioning module seamless integration with the Creo platform used the second developmenttool Creo/TOOLKIT. It solved the problem that Creo system can not support the new GPSstandard, improved the accuracy of3D tolerance design and efficiency of annotation.(3) Research the geometric tolerance specification and application of rules based on the newgeneration of GPS, the proposed is based on a new generation of GPS constant class geometrictolerance project type automatic discriminant rules, and establish the geometric toleranceassociated with intelligent and additional symbols. By using the standard symbol library,geometric tolerance database, optimize the human-computer interaction interface method realizes geometric tolerances intelligent and agility.(4) Based on the new generation of GPS, studied the symbols custom of surface roughnessapproach and the interface optimization of surface roughness.(5) Proposed assembly dimension chain automatic generation algorithm based on searchplane; using the Creo parameter and single data source, put forward a simple method to determinethe increase or decrease of ring; automatic generation of assembly dimension chain is given.
