The drilling mud plays an important role in the oil drilling process. With thedevelopment of modern drilling technology, the role of drilling mud becomes more prominent.Therefore, it is quite important to evaluate the performance and quality of the drilling mud ina scientific way. This article introduces the test method and device of mud rheology, as well asthe development of mud rheometer at home and abroad.The first part introduces the purpose and significance of mud rheology test, thedevelopment and current situation of mud rheometer, and introduces the basic principle ofmud rheology.The second part studies the overall design of the mud rheometer. It introduces theprinciple and method of mud rheology test, structural design of mud rheometer and makes acomparison of several schemes.The third part mainly studies the structural design and calculation of mud rheometer,including the design of driving part, surveying part; transmission part; control part, supportpart and the selection and design of the important components.This article has made a systemic introduction of mud rheology test methods and devices,which has certain reference value to the study of mud rheology and related test method.
