In this article, three new xanthan acyl esters were synthesized by solvent method, including isobutyl xanthate acetyl ester, isobutyl xanthate benzoyl ester and isobutyl xanthate octyl ester. Synthesis conditions were studied to obtain three xanthan acyl esters synthesis optimized conditions. For isobutyl xanthate acyl ester, optimization of process conditions are as follows:the molar ratio of isobutyl xanthate and acetyl chloride was0.95:1, the reactants were stirred for90min at20℃, the yield of isobutyl xanthate acyl ester can reach93.08%with purity of84.81%; for isobutyl xanthate benzoyl ester, optimization of process conditions are as follows:the molar ratio of isobutyl xanthate and benzoyl chloride was1:1, the reactants were stirred for120min at30℃, the yield of isobutyl xanthate acyl ester can reach97.40%with purity of87.95%; for isobutyl xanthate octyl ester, optimization of process conditions are as follows:the molar ratio of isobutyl xanthate and Octyl chloride was1.05:1, the reactants were stirred for120min at35℃, the yield of isobutyl xanthate acyl ester can reach95.27%with purity of86.42%. The structure and properties of three xanthan acyl esters are characterized by elemental analysis, ultraviolet spectrum analysis, infrared spectrum analysis and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy analysis.Flotation properties of three new xanthan acyl esters, isobutyl xanthate and O-isopropyl-N-ethylthiocarbamate for monominerals chalcopyrite, pyrite, and actual ore of sulfide ore were investigated systematically. The monomineral flotation experiments indicated that the order of collectors collecting property for chalcopyrite were as follows: isobutyl xanthate octyl ester> isobutyl xanthate benzoyl ester> isobutyl xanthate> xanthate acetyl ester> O-isopropyl-N-ethylthiocarbamate; and the order of collectors select properties for pyrite were as follows: isobutyl xanthate benzoyl ester> xanthate acetyl ester> O-isopropyl-N-ethylthiocarbamate> isobutyl xanthate octyl ester> isobutyl xanthate. Conducted an experiment roughing for a high oxidation rate of copper sulfide from Jiangxi, when the dosage of isobutyl xanthate benzoyl ester was32g/t, the purity and yield improved0.26%,1.25%respectively than O-isopropyl-N-ethylthiocarbamate.The interaction mechanism of three novel xanthan acyl esters with copper sulfide was discussed. The adsorption capacity of three xanthan acyl esters in chalcopyrite, pyrite surface was measured by ultraviolet spectrophotometer. The results showed that the adsorption capacity consistent with the results of monominerals flotation. The intensity of interactions between three novel xanthan acyl esters and Cu2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Fe2+, Fe3+were examined by ultraxiolet spectrum. The results showed that, these collectors could complex with Cu2+easily, could complex with Co2+, Ni2+, Fe2+, Fe3+. Chalcopyrite before and after complexed with isobutyl xanthate acetyl ester or isobutyl xanthate benzoyl ester or isobutyl xanthate octyl ester were characterized by infrared spectrum, the result indicated that adsorption of collectors on chalcopyrite surface was chemical adsorption.
