Copper and molybdenum separation has always been difficult problem in the field of mineral processing,it is also the larger obstacle of the developmennt of copper and molybdenum symbiotic resources,and thus it is becoming a focus in the study of mineral processing research workers.In this paper,it was researching on a hard-dressing copper molybdenum ore in Jiangxi,and some basic research had been carried out in order to develop new and effective inhibitors of copper and molybdenum separation,so as to provide some reference for the follow-up research work.The process mineralogy research of the actual copper-molybdenum ore showed that its main useful minerals are chalcopyrite and molybdenite,and the grade of copper and molybdenum is 0.844% and 0.234%,respectively.The gangue minerals are mainly silicate minerals of quartz and mica.Due to the complex state of the molybdenite,it is adsorped on other mineral surfaces,or wrappedby other minerals,or scattered distribution in the gangue minerals,which is difficult to dissociate the monomer.And coupled with lower molybdenite hardness,its grinding is difficult to control.Therefore,it is becoming the key factors to leadto the copper and molybdenum ore is difficult to separate.Through the mixed flotation test research of actual copper-molybdenum ore,the optimum conditions parameters were determined,that grinding fineness was of 70%-0.074 mm,and the dosage of kerosene and butyl xanthate collector were 150 g / t and 50 g / t,and the amount of lime and sodium silicate were 500 g / t and 1200 g / t,respectively;through the flotation separation test research of copper-molybdenummixed concentrate,the optimum conditions parameters were determined,the kerosene dosage was 100 g / t,the sodium silicate dosage of gangue mineral inhibitor was 100 g / t,the FSL dosage of chalcopyrite inhibitor was 200 g / t,the amount of foaming agent was 20 g / t,pulp concentration of 30%,flotation time of 6min,Copper and molybdenum mixed concentrate under the conditions of coarse separation without grinding;through the copper-molybdenum mixed concentrate flotation separation of chalcopyrite inhibitor species and dosage test showed that the relative size of the order of the inhibition ability of chalcopyrite inhibitors was FSL> Sodium sulfide> sodium thioglycolate>chitosan> sodium alginate,and the FSL was successfully applied to the actual flotation process,to achieve the effective separation of copper and molybdenum.Pure mineral flotation test study: through the chalcopyrite and molybdenite pure mineral flotation test study,fully understood and mastered the relevant agent flotation performance,the results showed that butyl xanthate and kerosene were the advantage collectors of chalcopyriteand molybdenite,and it has the high capture performance on chalcopyrite and molybdenite;under different inhibitor systems,the behaviors of chalcorite and mplybdnite proved that the new inhibitor FSL has a higher inhibitory selectivity on chalcopyrite,and the the results of the artificial mixed mine simulation test also showed that the inhibitor FSL could effectively separate the copper and molybdenum,which was consistent with the flotation test of the actual copper-molybdenum ore.FSL mechanism analysis: by using adsorption quantity and contact angle test analysis technology on the new inhibitor FSL and mineral to study its mechanism,it was found that the inhibitor FSL could act with chalcopyrite surface to make it inhibited,but FSL basically not inhibit the molybdenite;at the same time,by the chalcopyrite that was inhibited by the FSL due to the high hydrophilicity and difficult to be the catched bythe collector of butyl xanthate,and the consumption of FSL would increases significantly after acted by the butyl xanthate,it was indicated that the inhibitor FSL is selectively inhibited by a special effect on the surface of the chalcopyrite.
