MHA composite binder as a new type pellet binder having the advantages of an inorganic binder and an organic binder. Its main organic functional group was divided into fulvic acid and humic acid. To undertake this study is in order to reveal the two in performance and role of the law when bonding with mineral. In this study, using acetone-sulfuric acid method to extract high purity fulvic acid from lignite, and using alkali-soluble acid analysis to purified humic acid. In order to analysis structural and characterization we use ash analysis, elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy and other methods. And then the adsorption behaviors as well as the adsorption mechanism of lignite humic acid and fulvic acid onto magnetite, hematite, rutile and quartz were investigated by design experiment. Fulvic acid as the research objects to explore the rules of electrical properties with natural mineral exploration in the mineral surface adsorption, and in comparison humic acid. We need to identify the role of impurity metal ions in the functional components adsorption the mineral surface.Fulvic acid and humic acid are the main constituent elements of C、 H、O、N、S, etc, and functional groups are similar. They have aromatic benzene ring structure with a carboxyl group and a phenolic hydroxyl group of long-chain organic molecules. Fulvic acid structure contains more acid group, carboxyl and phenolic hydroxyl. The degree of unsaturation and molecular weight of fulvic are less than humic acid. Fulvic acid structure contains more acid group, carboxyl hydroxyl, but less phenolic hydroxyl than humic acid. Fulvic acid is more easily decomposed. The adsorption density of fulvic and humic acid are decreases with pH and increases with concentration. Fulvic acid does not precipitate when pH=3, but humic acid will precipitate. Fulvic acid and humic acid adsorption on mineral density of the order is:rutile> magnetite> hematite> quartz.△zeta decreases with pH. Between fulvic acid and minerals exist the electrostatic attraction, van der Waals forces, hydrogen bonding adsorption, Chemical interactions play a dominant role. Fulvic acid has greater impact on the change of zeta potential.
